Motions
We are sharing one of the motions from each round
Opening Debate (Media and Culture): That we regret the mainstream popularity and awareness of extremely wealthy CEOs (e.g. Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerburg)

Round 1 (Education): That teachers should be paid based on the academic improvement of their classes

Round 2 (Politics): That as the Australian Labor Party we would adopt the Greens’ student debt forgiveness policy

Round 3 (Popular Culture): That we prefer the casting of minority actors as leads in established franchises with a traditionally white lead (e.g. Idris Elba as James Bond) rather than the creation of entirely new franchises with a minority lead

Round 4 (Law and Justice): That police should not be able to conduct patrols of areas unless they are specifically called by a member of the public

Round 5 (Ethics): That, as the movement for veterans' rights, we would oppose the narrative that war is glorious

Round 6 (Identity Politics): That the feminist movement should actively reject the concept of girlboss feminism (a form of feminism that glorifies the individual financial and professional success of women as the ultimate form of female empowerment.)

Round 7 (International Relations): That oligarchs and investors from countries that are committing human rights violations should be banned from hosting sporting events and owning sport teams

Semi Final (Economics): That we would make the rate of taxes on socially undesirable goods such as alcohol and tobacco be inversely related to the age of the consumer. (e.g. higher for younger people and lower for elderly people)

Preliminary Final (First Nations People): That all revenue from tourist sites that are associated with Australian First Nations peoples should be distributed directly to the relevant Australian First Nations group/s

Grand Final (Religion): That religious organisations should be prohibited from offering social services (e.g. healthcare, aged care and housing support)
